How Diving Turned into T-Shirt Manufacturing
The DeCoral Story

Some ideas are born overnight. Others mature for years before finally becoming a reality.
The story of DeCoral is definitely the latter.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, many people reevaluated what they wanted to do with their lives. We were no different. It was then that the idea of doing something creative took root. We have always loved creating, brainstorming, and making something with tangible results.
Alongside creativity, we share another deep passion (pun intended): scuba diving.
It All Started with a Single T-Shirt
Through diving, we have traveled to countless places around the world. At almost every dive center, you can buy a souvenir t-shirt to remember the specific dive site or resort. We regularly looked for these shirts to bring the memories of our dive vacations back home with us.
However, we frequently noticed one thing: the quality of these t-shirts was highly inconsistent.
Some lost their shape after just a few washes. On others, the print faded quickly. Often, the graphics just weren't something we would proudly wear. That was when a question started forming in our minds: What if we made our own t-shirts?
From an Idea to a Plan
Our initial thought was naturally to find a vendor to manufacture our own designs. We spent a long time researching options, looking for manufacturers and suppliers working with high-quality blanks who could deliver a final product we would love to wear ourselves.
The more we dove into the topic, the more we felt we wanted to keep the entire process in our own hands. Eventually, the decision was made: we wouldn't outsource production; we would learn the craft and make them ourselves.
Taking the Plunge
We partnered with the Czech apparel manufacturer Malfini, one of Europe's best-known premium textile suppliers. Then came the next big step: purchasing machinery, tools, and equipment.
To be completely honest, we had no idea how much we had to learn. Although we have decades of experience with graphic design, it making apparel is not the same as making a leaflet or a magazine. From printing technologies to the properties of different textiles, we faced a mountain of new knowledge.
Many prototypes were made, a lot of experimentation took place, and of course, we learned from a lot of mistakes. But that is exactly what made the whole process so exciting.
The First Custom Graphics Were Born
In the beginning, we primarily designed ocean-themed graphics, leading to the birth of our Diving Series. We wanted to create pieces that we would gladly wear on a dive trip, a boat, or just in everyday life.
As our ideas multiplied, our product line expanded. We launched our signature DeCoral Series collection because we realized that creativity knows no bounds. Every new graphic is a new story, and every finished t-shirt or hoodie is a new piece of art.
DeCoral Today
Today, our online shop is live, we are active on social media, and we are constantly working on new graphics and products.
We are particularly delighted that more and more custom orders are coming in from businesses. Through our B2B services, an increasing number of clients trust us to bring their ideas to life in the form of corporate t-shirts, event apparel, and unique promotional projects. For us, this means we are on the right track.
Why Every Order Matters
DeCoral is not backed by a massive factory or a multinational corporation. We are a Hungarian family business born out of a shared passion and a creative spark. Every single order helps us grow further, realize new ideas, and create even more custom graphics.
When you buy from a small local business, you don't just receive a product – you support a dream, become part of a story, and help turn creativity into real value.
Thank you for joining us on this journey, and thank you to all our customers for your trust and support! The story of DeCoral is truly just beginning.
